Nudus Lipstick Samples: Swatches!

In a previous post, I told you about my Nudus lipstick samples. I don’t have a tube yet, but I definitely have my eye on at least one! They are not only ethically produced, non-toxic, and with the highest-quality ingredients, but they look terrific and feel amazing as well. A bonus is, the packaging is beautiful, with its sleek, white rectangular tube and the artful sketch of a nude lady:

In bright indoor light – from left to right: 27 Kisses, Just Like Jade, and Dirty Diana. You can see each has a sheen.

These are really pretty colors and feel moisturizing on the lips, especially if you apply some lip balm beforehand. You can also apply with your finger and put it on as stains. Since my lipstick samples are in little discs, I tend to do this often. Integrity Botanicals offers generous samples.

Unfortunately, I feel 27 Kisses and Just Like Jade barely show up on my lips. I don’t know if it’s because I’m applying with a lip brush or finger. Nudes tend to make me look washed out, and although 27 Kisses looks nice on my forearm, on my pinky brown lips it’s even lighter than my skin tone. I need a deeper shade to complement my deep medium skin tone.

Just Like Jade looks like a dusty light aubergine, which looks pretty on my forearm, but again, it doesn’t appear as much of a lipstick on my lips. As I said in my previous post, if I’m wearing a 35-dollar lipstick, it better make me look terrific! 🙂

I really like Dirty Diana. It looks so good on me and is strong enough to balance out my dark eyes and hair. Besides owning the full-sized version of Dirty Diana, I’d love to sample Dreamtime, Revenge, and Ruby Rose. Check out the Nudus shade selection:

From Integrity Botanicals

It’s great Integrity Botanicals offers three free samples with each order. Even if you pay for them, they are very reasonably priced. Nudus samples are just $3 each.

These opinions are my own. I bought these samples from Integrity Botanicals with my own money.

Nudus Lipstick Samples

These samples from Integrity Botanicals come in cute little flat discs with more product than you would think. Top, left: Nudus Just Like Jade Top, right: Nudus Dirty Diana Bottom: Nudus 27 Kisses

I had ordered these Integrity Botanicals samples a long time ago, but I’ve been using them for about six months now, using them in rotation with my other samples and full-tube lipsticks. I ordered from Integrity Botanicals, which lets you have three free samples included in every order.

Nudus is an Australian lipstick company with high standards I’ve been dying to try – its all-natural philosophy combined with their top-notch non-toxic ingredients and glowing reviews drew me in right away, but it’s the sexy packaging that sealed the deal.

I mean, these are seriously one of the most beautiful lipstick tubes – white and rectangular, with a nude woman on silvery part where the lip product comes out. Before I fork over $35 (yes, expensive, but worth it – hear me out), I wanted to sample some shades first.

I got Nudus Just Like Jade, described as a berry aubergine; 27 Kisses, Nudus’ signature best-seller, described as a creamy mid-tone mauve, which rumor has it looks good on everyone; and Dirty Diana, described as a deep bordeaux red.

Nudus’ Lip Euphoria formula has wonderful ingredients. Here’s the list for 27 Kisses, lifted straight from the Integrity Botanicals site:

Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil * , Cera Alba (Beeswax) * , Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Cera * , Tribehenin , Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter * , Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil * , Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil * , Tocopherol (Vitamin E) , Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil * , Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Seed Oil * , Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Seed Oil , Sclerocarya Birrea (Marula) Seed Oil * , Actinidia Chinensis (Kiwi) Seed Oil , Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Seed Oil * , Fragrance * , May Contain -+ Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide) , Mica , May Contain CI 75470 (Carmine) , Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract , Melia Azadirchta Flower Extract , Amino-Esters-1 , Coccinia Indica , Solanum Melongena (Eggplant) Fruit Extract , Aloe Barbadensis Flower Extract , Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil , Ocimum Sanctum (Holy Basil) Leaf Extract , Ocimum Basilicum (Basil) Extract , Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract , Corallina Officinalis (Coral Seaweed) Extract , Eclipta Prostrata Extract , Moringa Pterygosperma Oil , Melia Azadirachta Fruit/Seed Extract , Coccinia Indica Flower Extract , Coccinia Indica Fruit Extract.

Wow, these ingredients are impressive, and the lip-conditioning agents are felt as you put this lip formula across your lips.

Top left: Just Like Jade; Top Right: Dirty Diana, and Bottom: 27 KissesThe formula for all three is creamy, yet not too slippery, and a beautiful consistency. I’m in love with the formula! I also like the colors because they’re not your everyday shades in the conventional or green beauty world.

Of all three shades, I like Dirty Diana the best. The pigmentation is strong and looks terrific on my medium golden tan complexion. I’ll definitely be buying the artsy tube of Dirty Diana when my sample is done.

27 Kisses looks like a barely noticeable nude on me. I had to squint to see it. In fact, my husband didn’t think I was wearing any lipstick. For $35, someone better notice I’m wearing lipstick 🙂  27 Kisses is named thus as it’s the number one best-selling formula, and all the Lip Euphoria formulas are formulated with 27 active ingredients, including vitamins A, B, C, D, E, and K.

Just Like Jade is another shade which was a bit disappointing to me. It barely registered on my complexion. Some ladies may like the “barely there” look, and I do too, sometimes, but again, not when it’s a 35-dollar lip product. It’s a soft, mauve-berry tone with a hint of dark lilac on me.The samples last at least seven times, as they are quite opaque in coverage. You don’t need to apply much. Sometimes I apply the shades with my trusty Ecotools lip brush, other times I apply the color with my finger and it looks a bit more like a stain for a different look.

I’ll swatch the shades next time so you can see them on my arm and lips. All in all, I love the company and its philosophy, and I’m intrigued to actually try the lipstick straight from the tube. It’s an altogether different experience when you apply it from the tube, but so far from the samples, the formula is amazing. As the formula is free from paraben,

As the formula is free from paraben, petro-chemicals, lanolin, hydrogenated oils, fd&c and lake dyes, gmo, pesticides and nanoparticles, this lip product is worth the hype and one of the cleanest beauty products you can find on the market. As it does contain cera alba, aka beeswax, it’s not vegan. The fragrance listed is from the essential oils.

I’m glad Integrity Botanicals provides these samples for us before you commit to buying a full tube.

These opinions are my own, I bought these samples with my own money, and I’m not affiliated with the Nudus company.
